      So I'm using a magnetic filament monitor PCB v1.17b and the Version 1 housing printed with a SLA printer. It seems to be working fine. I saw that there is now a new version of the housing so I printed that up.
      Is is normal for there to be such a large gap between the halves of the housing with V2?
      Was this new housing made mostly to support FDM printed parts? If so I'll just continue to use V1 printed in resin since its a much nicer fit and I have yet to have issues with it.

        @nurgelrot

        https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet3dFilamentMonitor_RotatingMagnetVersion#Section_v2_0_magnetic_assembly_and_housing

        the magnetic assembly has changed slightly from v1.0 (which necessitates a different housing model)

        I have updated to documentation to make this clearer.

          @t3p3tony Yeah Im even more confused now because the V2 housing halves located at:
          https://github.com/Duet3D/FilamentMonitors/tree/master/Filament_Monitor_Magnetic/enclosure_v2
          do not fit together properly with the supplied hardware and a PCB of 1.7b
          Am I supposed to be using:
          https://github.com/Duet3D/FilamentMonitors/tree/master/Filament_Monitor_Magnetic/enclosure
          for the 1.7b PCB? Or .../enclosure_v2?

            @nurgelrot the housings relate to the magnetic assemblies, not the PCBs. the PCB dimensions have not changed and v1.7b PCBs are compatible with both the old and new magnetic assemblies.

            From you original post I assumed you had a v1 magnetic assembly as you are using a v1 housing successfully.

              @t3p3tony Yes my version 1.7b kit is working with the regular enclosure link. However the instruction on the web page state clearly that the v1.7b kit uses the v2 magnet. (maybe mine and the other people I have been talking to don't for some reason). Too many confusing version numbers. I'll just keep printing with what is working.

                @nurgelrot we only just changed to the v2 magnet assembly and have been shipping the v1.7b PCBs for quite a while. I will re read the documentation to see if i can make that clearer.

                  @t3p3tony Thanks yeah something like if your kit was made after XX-2021 you have the v2 magnet or a picture of the two so we can tell the difference easy

                  Thank you. 🙂

                        i am lost too. i just have bought sensor v1.7b... followed the documentation link in https://github.com/Duet3D/FilamentMonitors/tree/master/Filament_Monitor_Magnetic/enclosure_v2

                        by the file name it should contain STL, but my Slic3r is not able to import it.

                        please advise where to get correct file set.

                        many thanks!

                          @c310 do you have a version 1 or version 2 magnetic assembly:
                          https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet3dFilamentMonitor_RotatingMagnetVersion?#Section_Magnetic_Assembly

                          Assuming version 2 the the STLs in the github repository you linked should be ok. I have added a zip with the STLs in them to make it easier to download.

                            @t3p3tony thank you very much for the zip - it was very helpful. model printed and sensor assembled 🙂

                            now I'm facing the configuration issue: sensor reads 7 flashes and by documentation it is 'Magnet too weak' . So, i run M591 D0 to get diagnostic data, but it does not show neither 'mag' nor 'agc' values:

                            M591 D0
                            Duet3D rotating magnet filament monitor v1 on pin e0stop, disabled, sensitivity 28.80mm/rev, allow 40% to 120%, check every 3.0mm, no data received

                            ;
                            ;
                            this is my M591 from config.g:

                            M591 D0 P3 C"e0_stop" R40:120 E3.0 S0 A0

                            M122 output:

                            RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet version 3.3 (2021-06-15 21:44:54) running on Duet WiFi 1.02 or later

                            no i2c errors... what to do next?!

                              @c310 if its reading magnet too week then you need to adjust the print of the lid to move the PCB closer to the magnet, or sand the bottom surface of the lid slightly. The MFM wont report the magnet strength until it gets reasonably close to the correct magnet value.

                                @t3p3tony hey is it possible to get spacing and dimensions for those of us who like to integrate the housing, working with stl's is a pain.

                                  @carl-higby the dimensions are in the scad if you can read that? The PCB dimensions as are on the wiki here:
                                  https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet3dFilamentMonitor_RotatingMagnetVersion#Section_PCB
                                  i would aim for no more than a clearance gap.
