When I first turn it on, and connect my browser to it, it pops up, but after several minutes, I get the "connection lost" window. The duet itself seems to be still connected. I'm 1 room away from my router, maybe 15 feet. It's also a brand new router from my cable company, which is xfinity.

If I just leave it sit, the interface screen pops up, then after a few minutes it goes away. This is how I have to currently use my printer, with interrupted wifi. It's really frustrating.

I should also mention that I have 4 different printers all running a duet2 and they all do this same thing. Below is my various versions.

Firmware Name: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet
Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later + DueX5
      Firmware Version: 2.02(RTOS) (2018-12-24b1)
      WiFi Server Version: 1.21
      Web Interface Version: 1.22.6

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Wade

        Duet WiFi

The WiFi module on the Duet is 2.4GHz only, from what I can see.

If whatever PC or tablet you are using is working on 5GHz, it's possible the router may need settings changing or WiFi isolation type settings disabling.

It is also possible there is just too much interference from other WiFi (or non-WiFi) devices on the 2.4GHz band where you are, and the connections are being swamped.

2.4GHz is massively overloaded in many places.

@rjenkinsgb Hm, we live out in the country, so there's no other wifi nearby. I don't believe I have a lot of 2.4 devices, but thanks, I'll look at my router settings tonight.

My Duet 2 WiFi boards have no antenna. To get them to connect reliably I had to install an dedicated access point in the room with them. It is no more than 8 feet away.

              xfinity

You're not the first person to report strange behaviour with xfinity devices. There may be a setting on the router to configure band steering. What I think happens is that the router erroneously thinks that the Duet should be in a 5ghz network when in fact it is only capable of 2.4ghz.

It may also be worth updating to 2.05.1 by uploading the full zip file to the sys folder in DWC.

This is the previous thread with the xfinity router in the end they setcup a different router for the Duet.
