@user-m_123 yes, its in the change notes

Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

Strange, I always thought that mac addresses are hard coded to the particular device and there was no way of changing it. (yes it can be temporarily overwritten via software)
Do you have a link to that change note (I was unable to find it)
The reason I am curious is because my printers are assigned IP numbers based on their MAC address and I can see holy hell happening if MAC id's are changed nilly willy ....

@jens55 https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/wiki/Changelog-RRF-3.x-RC#reprapfirmware-340rc1 penultimate bullet under the first list under that heading.

MAC addresses are less immutable than most people think. Some routers hold it only in firmware and there's no hard-coding / burning into hardware. They aren't unique either - manufacturers can recycle them. The uniqueness and immutability is more custom than standards, I believe.

Having said which, it is pretty well observed custom, so I assume there's a good reason for the changes it in this case.

@achrn the change was it wasn't calculating the MAC address correctly, allowing 2 or more of the same device on a network having the same MAC address
