Config.g disappeared
-
I shut down my printer yesterday and when I restarted it just now it has an almost empty config.g file on the SD that welcomed me to my "new Duet 3" and prompted me to load the configurator web page. The first line of the new config file is "; Default config.g template for DuetPi" but I do not have a Raspberry Pi attached (never have). No trace of the proper config.g file that was on the SD card yesterday even though my custom homing files are still there. Did I do something wrong?
My machine is a custom-built printer with a rotary spindle and so I cannot really use the configurator web page for setup, but I do have a backup of the proper config.g file on my computer, even if it might not entirely up to date.

@MJLew There have been rare occasions where the config.g has been deleted, but in those cases it has not been replaced by another one! The firmware will try to run config.g.bak if there is no config.g. The config file you are referring to does sound like the one that ships with the Duet. Is it the .bak file? If not, might you have uploaded the default config.g in error?
The config.g file deleting itself is a bug that has (mostly) been eliminated in recent firmware versions. What firmware version are you running, and what Duet board? Send M115 and post the response.

@droftarts Damn. A bug. Bugger!
There is no config.bak file on the SD, and I do not recall if there ever was. There is one on each of my older Duet 2 wifi boards.
It is not possible that I uploaded a default config file, as the events were a shut-down during a print pause (due to a nozzle clog) on one day (I switched the power off, and then when I switched the power on the next day the Panel Due welcomed me to my 'new Duet'.
Here it the M115:
