Could this panel cable be used to extend the USB connection?

It changes the end of the connector to a USB-B female and I was afraid this messes up with the connection or something.
Yeah, super noob question, be kind.

I already have a very good long USB-B type cable, so this panel connector would be a perfect choice.

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is =)

There is no reason I can see why that would not not work.

I Used to use one of those on my first 0.6 board it worked just fine (Had an ethernet one as well just to bring everything out to a panel on the frame)

While we are on the subject of USB cables:

So I bought a couple of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1M-Dual-Head-Reversible-Micro-USB-to-USB-Sync-Charging-Data-Cable-Samsung-HTC/262500346853. So far, they've been great!
