MFM_enclosureV3.scad to .step/.f3d: issues
-
Wish you all a happy new year!
For the integration of the MFM in a bracket I'd favour an editible object in fusion360.
Is the MFM_enclosurev3_release.scad https:// github
.com/Duet3D/FilamentMonitors/blob/master/Filament_Monitor_Magnetic/version3/enclosure/MFM_enclosurev3_release.scad as provided in the github available as .step/.stp or f3d?I tried to convert it myself according to this procedure: https://
forums.autodesk .com/t5/fusion-manage-ideas/how-to-import-openscad-file-into-fusion360-as-a-solid-body/idi-p/10174834.
This workflow does not work for the hull structure of the MFM enclosure, but it works a charm for basic geometric bodies like for this example https://
wiki.freecad .org/Import_OpenSCAD_code.Regards, Fabian
PS: sorry for the spaces in the links, I'm not allowed to post links.

@TheTurboGuy not sure what the issue is with import to fusion. You could try opening the scad file in freecad?

@TheTurboGuy FreeCAD doesn't like the Hull command, I think. You can import the .stl files into Fusion 360 directly, then follow a tutorial to convert the mesh to solid body. I've done this plenty of times when needing to adjust models from Printables/Thingiverse et al.
