Hi, I have DuetWifi v1.03. I didn't use StallGuard yet, but I'm planning to use it on my coreXY on X, Y and Z (as a probe). According to what I read, it's not practical to Z usage, but what if I have a 20:1 gear ratio for Z (and one motor only) ? This way the motor needs low current and high speed, and also a full step will still make good precision probing (maybe 0.05mm) . What are your thoughts in theory? Maybe someone tried it already?
      Thanks

There are a few threads already about using motor stall as a z probe with instructions for tuning and setup. Seems feasible.

The posts I came across were about problems and getting it to work, didn't find a working example. Also I'm wondering if the gear ratio of 20:1 would help.

            Try this one.

From what I gather, yes having a higher steps per mm value would help.
