Is there any updated method of connecting to the internet?

The Duet doesn't require an Internet connection. A connection to your LAN will allow you to control it from other devices on your LAN.

Well ok, i guess that's what i mean. I tried connecting by using the setNetwork macro method via micro card, which is the way i did it the first time. But am unable to get it to work now.

I suggest you connect to your Duet using USB and a terminal emulator - or you can use the Console page of PanelDue instead if you have one.

Send M587 to list the networks that the Duet knows about, and check that the SSID if your WiFi router is listed in the response.

Then send M552 S1 to try to connect to it. You should get a response a few seconds later. The blue LED on the WiFi module should flash for a few seconds and then turn solid blue if the connection is successful.

@dc42 I sent the M587 via console on paneldue and it returned previously known networks, with 00 address's. Then sent M552 S1 and it returned "no known networks found".

If you want the Duet to connect to a wireless network that it doesn't know about yet, you will need to tell it about that network using the M587 command.
