      So I just had to fix an entangled spool, so I paused, fixed it and resumed but the piece is now 5mm ish lower so I printed in mid air. So is there a fix?

        If this happens every time you pause and resume, then it suggests a problem with your pause.g or resume.g file.

          Yes sounds like your pause file raises the Z height by 5mm but the resume one is not lowering it again. have a look here:
