Different time consumption between cura and duet 0.8.5

the duet tell me in the screen that is about 16 hour it is a fatal different between the two period
what is the error ????? -
Hi, I don't know the cause of your error but for me using Cura 2.3 and the Duet, I see a pretty good correspondence between the time reported by Cura and the time taken for my Kossel XL to print. Typically, it may take a minute or so longer in a half hour print. Cura 2.4 will include the info required to enable the Duet to display estimates based on filament usage, file usage and layer height.

Which duet time are you referring to? Is it layer time, file progress time or filament usage time? At what point during the print do see these times and what is the correlation between them?

Cura and other slicers can only guess the time required because things like acceleration, max speed, etc are defined in the firmware and machine settings.
Duet Web Control shows you 3 estimations based on 3 factors (Filament Usage, File Progress, Layer Time)
Which keeps changing because it uses the time from already printed layers/g-code to estimate the total time needed.
I believe if you want to know the print time in advance you can try the M37: Simulation mode (http://reprap.org/wiki/G-code#M37:_Simulation_mode). -

what is the error ?????The times are all guesses. Once the print has done several layers, the filament time slowly gets closer to the correct time. I've had prints start at several days for the completion time during the first layer.

In particular, the time estimates during the first few layers are usually too high. This is because they don't take account of the first layer print speed usually being set lower than for other layers, and the first layer is normally solid whereas most layer use infill.

I'm running Simplify3D and the times are really far off. I've learned to look at the printer times and ignore the slicer times. I've also learned to check the estimated finish time after a few layers have completed. Certainly nothing to fix at all here. I've found the printer to be close enough.
