      Thanks @T3P3Tony! Looking forward to the "easier shopping" aspect of the kit for sure.

      @nhof Yeah - their printers were really nice. We're already trading design ideas back and forth, too. Initially the kits will mostly be a 'parts bundle' of the BOM parts, but over time I expect it to offer some real advantages to make it easier to build (wiring harness, pre-tapped extrusions, labeled parts, etc)

          What's the status of the kits? Has the first batch shipped yet?

          I'm hoping by the 2nd or 3rd batch to have the cash available to purchase one. After self-sourcing my delta, and the considerable extra time and cash outlay that's been, I'm ready for another kit.

              Thanks for the update, kraegar. Will the 2nd batch be in mid- to late November?

                Project R3d handles all the logistics with the kits, so I'm not sure of the answer on that. You can email them and I'm sure they'll give you a timeframe, though!

                  @kraegar The RailCore II 300ZL kit looks amazing and I am definitely saving up for this to be one of my next 3D printer purchase. I also wanted to say that the "Halo" prototype looks good and I wanted to suggest a idea for it. You should expand the Halo exterior profile to add slots for a removable top enclosure made of acrylic or PC. Thought it would be a good addition to the optional upgrades for the kit. I only suggested the profile expansion because from the photo I do not believe the moving components would have proper clearance with the current slots in the design.

                      @Jared_Braden we have designs for a top enclosure in testing, and some changes coming. it will be both "halo" and "standard" compatible.

                      @PlasticMetal Here's the YouTube video where I installed and discussed the halo on my 250. I've turned the model for the 300zl halo over to 713maker for milling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9udGI_555m0

                        Such a slick kit.

                          @kraegar Hi,
                          Thanks for all the hard work on the railcore. I have just ordered the parts to build this 🙂
                          was wondering if it is possible to get the model for the halo 300zl so i can get it milled locally? is way to expensive to get it sent to australia.

                            The halo files will be released once they've been tested on a 300zl, and confirmed to work. Then I'll clean up a lot of cruft from the design, and publish it. Probably within a week or so of testing, depending on my work schedule.

                                    What's up with the RailCore forum and wiki? The security certificates expired over 2 weeks ago on the forum, and 10 days ago on the wiki. Prior to that, the forum had been getting bombed by Russian spam, and it didn't seem any admins were paying attention.

                                    I'm trying my best to not get sucked into the cesspool that is Facebook, but it seems that's the only place still alive.

                                      Sorry, yeah. Our domain admin has been awol a bit now. We're migrating content from the wiki over to github ( https://railcore.github.io/ ). Not sure what we'll do with the forum long term yet, it was pretty under utilized.

                                      In the meantime, #RailCore on IRC, or our discord channel at https://discord.gg/6kPKDRZ are good ways to communicate.

                                        Are you still using SuperLube brand oil with PTFE for your linear rail carriages?

                                            Sorry to be grumpy on the Discord comment - I realize it takes a lot of personal time to organize and maintain all these sites. My main concern with Discord, and one of the concerns with FB, is that information gets lost. Discord in particular is just a rolling chat. Forums allow much better organization of issues, and the invaluable search function.
