I have A Duet2 working well with a CNC router, I am so impressed with WIFI connection that I am thinking of converting another machine and purchasing another controller.
If I am setting up a 2nd controller with the same Wi-fi network does YAT select a separate IP address?

I'm running two duets with no issues on the same network. I did nothing during setup, ip was set up automatically.

That’s great, assume it selects a unique IP address on setup

@trev133 The MAC address is used to tell the difference between Duets. The router will assign a different IP address to each MAC address.

@stephen6309 Thanks Stephen. Do I need to adjust the MAC address or is that pre-assigned to the Duet?

@trev133 said in IP address for 2nd Duet:

@stephen6309 Thanks Stephen. Do I need to adjust the MAC address or is that pre-assigned to the Duet?

The Duet Ethernet assigns itself a MAC address based on the unique ID of the microcontroller. Although it's not 100% guaranteed that two different Duets will have different MAC addresses, it's highly unlikely that they would have the same one. So you don't need to assign the MAC addresses yourself.
