24v Power Supply

Hi.currently running a Duet with a new Ooznest Workbee. So impressed that I am thinking of converting another machine to Duet. This morning checked the accuracy of the power supply in machine I am thinking of converting and it’s fairly static at 24.8 volts. Is this OK? or do I need another power supply. I don’t know how sensitive the duet is to the 24volt recommendation. Appreciate some guidance.

@trev133 As long as you don't go beyond 25V everything will be OK. Above 25V you get out of the safe envelope and it may work or it may just make a lot of smoke!

Thanks Catalin. Think it’s too close for comfort, think I’ll order a new power supply. Wouldn’t want to fry a new controller for the cost of a power supply. Trev

Most 24V PSUs have a voltage adjustment potentiometer on them. So if yours has, you can turn it down a little.

Also.. if you measured that without any load, that usually also will raise the measured value.
So, what load did you have on the PSU when testing?(But as David wrote, usually there is an adjustment pot. Just make sure to adjust with a suitable load)

Thanks guys that helps. With load if falls back to about 24.3 volts so I’m probably OK.
