Hi all. I've got the install complete and working now with the exception of the PanelDue & 7" lcd. The lcd is the one sold by Filastruder as a set with the DuetWifi, so I assume it's the correct one.

When I first hooked them up I had the firmware that shipped with the DuetWifi, and the screen looked the same as it does in the image below. As part of setting up the board I upgraded the firmware to the following:

Firmware Name: RepRapFirmware for Duet WiFi
      Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.0
      Firmware Version: 1.16 (2016-11-08)
WiFi Server Version: 1.03 (ch fork)
      Web Interface Version: 1.13

I didn't do anything specifically to get the PanelDue working, because I don't actually know what to do. I'd been hoping that it would simply work after I plugged it in and turned it on.

Any idea what I need to do to get this displaying working properly?

I found DC42's page with instructions on updating the firmware and such here.

I'll download the files and try to run through this procedure and see if the panel works correctly after that.

Bossac64 will not install on my Windows 10 machine, and the last comment visible on the page for that shows that I'm not the only one. The installer aborts with an unspecified error.

Can the panel's firmware be updated using the Arduino IDE software instead of bossac?

DC has a copy of Bossac for W10 on his github

Yes - this is characteristic of a PanelDue with 4.3" firmware being used on a 7" LCD screen.

All PanelDues come flashed with 4.3" firmware - that's how we (Filastruder) received them, though the most recent batch we received is unflashed so we'll start flashing 4.3" and 7" firmwares in the future based on what LCD is ordered alongside the PanelDue.

I'm sure that would be greatly appreciated. I'll see if I can get the bossac for win10 off DC42's github page and get the 7" firmware installed.

I'm loving the DuetWifi so far, and have been working through the issues methodically and learning and overcoming. I've done several prints with it so far, and it's really eery, being used to the original sound of the Wanhao i3 style printer, to hear nothing but fan noise now. I keep having to glance over to the printer from time to time to reassure myself that a print is still actually going on.

SOLVED: I got the bossac.exe for Win10 off DC42's github page, and was able to use it to upload his latest 7" firmware to the PanelDue, and then it displayed just fine. It's currently sitting on another cardboard box next to the cardboard box with the DuetWifi mounted on it. I can see it just fine.

The screen does look a bit jittery though. It's constantly doing this little low-amplitude jiggle. Is that normal?

If the image is jittering sideways on the display then the display is faulty. It should be rock solid. However, if you get a slight flicker when you turn down the brightness, then that is normal and unavoidable as far as I can tell.

This is cell phone video showing what the display looks like. It's in the middle of a long print in this scene.

Would you say this is normal, or indicative of a faulty display? It's looked like this from the first instant it displayed at all with the correct firmware.

                        That's a faulty display.

Thanks David. I've got the display working at the moment attached to the DuetWifi, even though the display is jittery. I've emailed Filastruder about arranging a swap for a non-jittery display.

I'm very impressed with the DuetWifi, it's web-based control system, how well it seems to be working, etc. This is just great. I ordered this based on the impressions of another user who upgraded his Wanhao printer with this board, and based on my conversation in our Facebook group about it, another guy went out and ordered the DuetWifi. I hope the popularity of this controller continues to improve.
