Power third party board with duet usb

Hi,
I want to make a board for use an MPG.
This board will send gcode via usb and have to be powered.
Can i use duet 2 usb to power it ?Sorry for my bad english

A USB Device such as the Duet can't provide power through the USB cable. Only a USB Host can do that. So you would need to run separate 5V power and ground wires from the Duet to your other device.

I thought, so I'll add a 5V power supply on my board

the duet cant supply power through the usb. however it can supply 5v via the fan header if it is set to 5v or the expansion slot

Or from the PanelDue port, if you are not otherwise using it.
