I guess I killed it

Hey guys,
so I use a Duet 2 Wifi V1.03 with two external drivers for axis U and V. At first I was using DRV8825 but I don't know why but sometimes they didn't. So I bought TMC 2208 V1.1 MKS and because of lacking information I guess I confused the VDD with the VM voltage input.
That being said I guess I shorted 3.3 and 24V (or fed 24V into the 3.3 rail). I guess that killed the driver, too.Now when I power the board all 3 LEDs are on. Diag is just on for couple of seconds.
I can't connect to the board via WIFI (when I connect over USB, YAT is telling me "modul is being started" but it never starts) and the WIFI modul gets warm.Is there a chance to safe the Duet?

If everything is working except WiFi, and nothing (in particular the microcontroller) is getting hot except the WiFi module and possibly the 3.3v regulator (because of the current that the WiFi module is drawing), then there is a good chance that the board can be saved by replacing the WiFi module. With the right tools, it's not hard to replace. When there is over-voltage on the 3.3V rail, the WiFi module and the SD card are usually the first things to fail.

how can I check if anything else ist damaged? The regulator seems to be working (because of the light up LED, right?)
If I try to run the delta homing (G28) it tells me, that homeall.g couldn't be found.Yeah I would give it a shot with the hot air gun to desolder it.

Like I said, the other component that fails early when there is excessive voltage on the 3.3V rail is the SD card. Is the card still readable in a PC? Have you tried a different SD card, populated with the system files?
Is the microcontroller getting hot?

SD Card holder ist totally cold --> SD card ist still readable with a PC
microcontroller: It is getting a little warm (but not as hot as the SD card reader) after startup (20s).

So you are saying that the SD card is getting hot but still works in a PC? I suggest you measure the voltage on the 3.3V rail, it sounds as though it may be high.

No the SD-card and the SD-card-holder are both cold. The microcontroller ist getting a little warm (but is still responsive over USB and YAT).
I will measure the 3.3V this afternoon

If you can get the Duet to recognise a SD card, then it's worth replacing the WiFi module. The first step is to get a successful response from sending M21.

@dc42 So while testing it seems like the 3.3V Regulator died. I measured the voltage on the expansion board ( it indicated 3.2V) and now the yellow LED is not light up.
I can't get a connection via USB anymore -
so I guess my chance are near to zero now?

The WiFi module may be shorting out the 3.3V rail.
