Alternative to Haydn's
-
Hi,
I have a Tevo Little Monster... And i am thinking to upgrade it the arms.
Some recomendation? (avoid Haydn's, I know they are very goods, as expensive)
And... If finally do this mods, only will have of the original TLM (the plates, towers and heated bed)... Time

Make your own. Carbon rods, magnets, delrin cups. Maybe even machine the delrin cups yourself.
Don't think you'll save much money though... and Haydn's are PRECISELY the same length, all six in a set, within .01 or .02. Very hard to reproduce that.
Otherwise, carbon rods with traxxas ball links epoxied in. Cheap and effective. Not as good, but close.

@peirof Carbon rods and Traxxas ball links are part of the original Kossel design. Look at https://reprap.org/wiki/Kossel#Diagonal_push_rods.
You may even get them pre-assembled: https://www.3dprinteu.eu/product-category/pre-assembled-kits/ -
My 2 cents: if you try to build the rods yourself and do not obtain quality and precision then you will be tempted to try again maybe once or twice, eventually the total cost may be bigger than buying Haydn's in the first place. Plus the wasted time.
Same if you purchase cheaper noname rods.
Haydn rods happen to be something that many users purchased and then never complained about quality/precision, that tells that you can't go wrong with Haydn.
My Haydns are within 0.01 mm difference, that says a lot.
Unless you plan buying Haydn rods every week, the expense is somehow a one-time-and-never-have-to-do-it-again thing, so the price tag is well justified.

Searching i have see this strange setup
Feedback please
Delta configuration is VERY popular in high speed industrial robots. Where engineers are free to chose any kinematics they want, driven by making the robot better performing than their competition. I have never seen 9 arm Delta industrial... and that should tell you a lot.
Check this out. It is not speeded up.

I bought the Haydn Huntley delrin and magnets...and I made my own lenght arms...I buy 6mm carbon fiber tube...I made my own caps for the carbon fiber tubes...i print them on petg and then machined on lathe to final shape and dimensions.. using this on my 2 anycubic kossel linear plus...I spent 78$ for parts from Haydn + 24$ shipping fee and another 40$ on customs import fees, and 20$ on carbon fiber rods.. total 162$ ...custom lenght is 115$ each kit + 24$ shipping + custom taxes!. .for having all the rods same lenght I made a jig from a solid piece of aluminium machined on a mill with a shape of a big U where on each side I cut slots for m3 screws and I fix in place 10mm diameter steel balls with m4 holes in that I buy from aliexpress for this purpose...then the rods are glued on one side with epoxy glue and let them set for 48h...then I put them into the jig and glue the other side of the arm, this way I achieved the same size of all 6 arms.. I made 2 sets of these arms...in total 12arms to install on my anycubic kossel linear plus!some photos of the caps and the arms
