I'm a little in the dark when it comes to Stealthchop settings.

      https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_M569_Set_motor_driver_direction_enable_polarity_and_step_pulse_timing

There are a lot of variables, and I'm not really sure what they do or what the default values are, and the gcode wiki says to check the TMC driver data sheet.

Can someone demystify stealthchop for me and maybe give a mini guide on how to go about tuning it before I start in on the data sheets?

This is for an Ender 3 in particular.

Stealthchop does automatic tuning on the first move.
        see

The only parameter that we normally are supposed to change is the V Parameter when stealthchop switches to spreadcycle.
Be aware that if the cutover is at high speed to the switch becomes more likely to create a layer shift.

i believe you can change the autotuned parameters using the chopper control registers, but i have never done that.

the other parameters are for spreadcycle.

          Thanks, that adds some clarity.

@Phaedrux Actually the Hnn is also part of stealthChop parameters - but I am with you and after playing a little bit while doing about 120 other things at the same time I put this to "some day". 😁
