Started a print last night, and checked up on it a few times through the night. Came down this morning to find that the bed had moved all the way down to max and was the head was extruding still in mid air.

After stopping and trying to rehome the printer, find out that the z-axis will not move.

      I got the following errors

Warning: motor phase B may be disconnected reported by driver(s) 2

and running M122 during homing of z-axis gave me

Supply voltage: min 23.5, current 23.8, max 24.5, under voltage events: 0, over voltage events: 0, power good: yes
      Driver 0: standstill, SG min/max 0/132
Driver 1: standstill, SG min/max not available
      Driver 2: open-load-B, SG min/max not available
Driver 3: standstill, SG min/max not available
Driver 4: standstill, SG min/max not available
      Date/time: 2019-11-25 07:06:46
      Cache data hit count 1766442894
      Slowest loop: 3.38ms; fastest: 0.07ms
      I2C nak errors 0, send timeouts 0, receive timeouts 0, finishTimeouts 0, resets 0

I disconnected the z-axis inspected and all looked good. I then swapped each z motor out with the x-axis and homed the x-axis for each motor separately and motors worked just fine. What else could be the issue? I checked the connectors for the z-axis and I do not see any issues with any shorting there.

@jaurand said in Z motor Issue during print:

It's either bad crimp connection in one of the Z motor cables (which may be intermittent, so that it worked when you plugged it into X), or a faulty Z driver. Please try plugging the X and Y motor cables into the Z motor connectors, then try to move Z and see whether X and/or Y move. To move Z when nothing has been homed, first send G91, then send a G1 H2 Z move, for example G1 H2 Z100.

@dc42 alright plugged x and y into z slots and those are running just fine. Odd that a bad crimp showed up all of a sudden.
