      Hello,

      I have a duet ethernet and a duet X2.
Is it possible to setup these 2 together in order to be able to control 3 independent Z axis stepper motors ?
Can I connect 2 independent stepper motors on the ZA and ZB of the
duet ethernet and one stepper motor on the duetx2 so i will have one more spare connection for a second nozzle for future use ?

      thanks a lot

@gbiski Afraid not. ZA and ZB are wired together. But you can of course put 1 Z motor on the Duet ethernet and the other 2 Z motors on the Duex 2 and move all 3 independently.

@deckingman So the best scenario that i can do (in order to have 2 extruders and 3 independent z-axis) with my setup is to use 2 stepper motors for the 2 extruders and 1 stepper motor for the 1st Z axis on the Duet Ethernet and 2 stepper motors for the rest 2 Z axis on the duetx2 ?

Yes. Or you can use the 5 on the Duet Ethernet to do X,Y and all 3 Z motors by using the drivers labelled E0 and E1 as the other two Z motors. Then use the two drivers on the Duex2 for the two extruders. Either one will work.

If you need more motors, I believe you can add two more external stepper drivers via the expansion connector or failing that, buy a Duex 5.
