Smart IR Probe with Duet 3 and RRF 3...

  • Hi,
I am starting to set up my Duet 3 board for a new machine, and I am trying to redo everything from scratch.

I plan to use a Duet Smart IR probe -- mainly because I have one, and I like their compactness.

I went through the RepRap Configurator, and I got the following configuration for the probe:

    M558 P1 "io4.in+io4.out" H5 F120 T6000
    G31 P500 X0 Y-20 Z2.5`

which I believe is correct, but I am not sure that I need both io4.in and io4.out. But I am worried that I will connect the probe wrong. I did find and read https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_3_Mainboard_6HC_Hardware_Overview#Section_IO but I am confused by the diagram of the IO headers and how to connect them.

I'd be happy if someone could share a correct configuration for the smart IR probe and how to connect it.

You don't need to include io4.out, but you do need letter C in front of the port name:

    M558 P1 C"io4.in" H5 F120 T6000

  • Thanks! The missing C is what I got from the reprap configurator, so either it's a bug or would have worked if I just had used io4.in? a typo by me in here, it is in the configuration.
