    Should probe offset be Z height during bed levelling?

      I've been pulling my hair out trying to get a TPU model get a good first layer and I just don't understand something...

      Let's say...

      • I have no heightmap
      • Precision Piezo Orion probe
      • G31 probe offset is -0.05

      When I home Z,

      • G30
      • G1 Z0

      The result is Z: 0.000

      Now I want to do a bed level...

      • G1 Z5
      • G32
      ; bed.g
      G30 P0 X-235 Y-222 Z-99999 ; probe near a leadscrew
      G30 P1 X2 Y235 Z-99999 ; probe near a leadscrew
      G30 P2 X230 Y-222 Z-99999 S3 ; probe near a leadscrew and calibrate 3 motors
      G1 X0 Y0 F8000
      

      Immediately, the Z coordinate changes to 4.950 and stay there even after the bed levelling is complete. Is it supposed to do that??? It always has since RRF 3.0 but I don't remember it being that way in RRF 2.X. I've just been ignoring it until now but the first layer for the TPU model I'm trying to print has to be perfect and I'm struggling.

        I think it's recommended to do another single G30 at the center of the bed to re-establish the Z0 point since any tilting done by the G32 will have changed it slightly.

          @Phaedrux Doing a G30 at the center of the bed with a 5mm dive height still results in a position of 4.950. Moving Z to 0.100 and measuring with a feeler gauge does result in a correct gap. I guess it's just odd that after a dive, the height is left at the dive height + the probe offset.

          Ah well.
