connecting neopixel or rgb led to duet2 with expansion board

there seems to not be alot on this topic.
i have neopixel strips and have regular rgb strips.
is there an easy way to controll thru the duet wifi,
anyone have a functioning led setup ?
For one way, see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3382718 and in particular this image from it
Caution! Be very careful not to feed 5V from an Arduino to the Duet.

if i can only find a way to give it signal via the mic terminals, i mean rip it apart and feed it a signal to the pre or post microphone circuit.
can duet have an output that could be used as this?
my idea is to( convert a PWM output to an analog voltage level, producing a true DAC. All that is needed is a simple low-pass filter made from a resistor and a ceramic capacitor. The simple RC low-pass filter shown converts the PWM signal to a voltage proportional to the duty cycle.) from here:
but to make the duet output diffrtnt signals and asign an output pin.
it should work, I hope ,hahaha
