      I was playing around with the idea of using a larger fan for print cooling than the standard 50x15 and I don't think I've seen in any documentation what the max current was for out1 and out2 on the Duet 3 toolboard. Does anyone know?

          @Phaedrux So 1 amp is the limit based off the 12v regulator on the toolboard?

            No, out1 and 2 which you asked about are higher current heater terminals with a 5a limit powered from VIN. They could be used for fans as well.

            The 1a limit is only when using the regulator. You also have the option of using vin. There is a selector jumper.

              @Phaedrux For the toolboard though?

                Uhg, sorry I missed that entirely.

                I would say based on the outputs for the mainboard it's likely 2a but I will confirm.

                  @Phaedrux Even if its 1A that's 12W which is a crapton for most fans we put on tools

                    @Luke-sLaboratory Ya I doubt I'm anywhere close to the max, just would like to know.

                      It's 1A 0.8A total for OUT1 and OUT2 because the maximum output current of the 12V regulator is 1A, and the 5V rail is also derived from that regulator.

                        I've added a note to the tool board page about the 0.8a limit on Out1 and Out2.
