      Hello, I have a quick question about the z offset in the .config file. I ran everything to set my Z0 and get my offset, but I still had to do some baby stepping to get things just right. Right now my z offset is 1.5mm and I had to do -0.30mm in baby stepping. So my question is do I increase the z offset to 1.8mm or reduce it to 1.2mm. I am not sure of the direction. Thank you in advance for your help.

      Justin

        To lower the nozzle, increase the value.
        The offset is how much further the nozzle would have to travel to reach 0 from the position the probe was triggered

        Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

            At the end of my G31 command in the config.g I placed the following as a reminder.

            "Reduce the number to LIFT the nozzle AWAY from the bed"

              @CaLviNx I just went with "larger = closer" - saved typing. 😉

              Printers: A FT-5 with the 713 upgrade bits. A custom MarkForged style. A small Utilmaker style and a CoreXY from kits. Various hotends. Using Duets (2 and 3) running 3.4.1

                I'm used to typing up (too) long winded reports, so one short sentence is like a breath of fresh air. And I'm used to typing like someone else is going to be reading it, not just me
