My board has bad wifi connection making it impossible to use,
I have multiple esp 82666 for diy projects, none of which have given me problems.
The Duet is 3 meters away from a unify AP with direct line of slight.
Sometimes the board reads wifi bad password a few times before connecting.
All of the firmware has been updated with the latest releases.
When I do get connection it is too slow to use (15 minutes to load front page).

Can you provide the results of M122?

Is the Duet in an enclosure or blocked by metal?

Are you using a Duet wifi with an external antenna?

We've had a few complaints from users of unify aps.

Do you have a separate SSID for the 2.4ghz network or is it using a combined name for both 2.4 and 5ghz?

I suspect that sometimes the band steering is trying to push the duet to the 5ghz network which it doesn't support. Just a theory, but using a separate 2.4ghz network has solved it for others in the past, so give that a try if you can.

@Phaedrux Have tried multiple aps and changed names and passwords on my 2.4 network multiple times trying to solve this.
Could my wifi chip be defective?

you could try testing wifi using the duet as the ap?

That's a lot of photos. Can you give some context as to what I'm looking at?

You tried access point mode, and.... it worked? but It didn't work?

The web interface files are hosted on the SD card. Sometimes a bad SD card will cause connection problems because the files can't load. Have you tested with a fresh SD card?

Sorry for the late response so:

First images with YAT showing that I configured the duet in AP mode and the results of M122 command.
After doing that, the wifi connection is hard to do, but by getting everything close to the antenna we could connect to it (we talk about few inches).

I connect with my phone and a MacBook, both have difficulties to connect.
On the MacBook, I could load the page with the google chrome inspector, which is the result of the next pictures.
You could see that the loading time and size of the file are not consistent/acceptable/correct.

So in conclusion, AP mode doesn't work more than client mode. Both have huge problems in terms of connectivity with distance (we talk about distances from 1m to 3m without any metal or any material between the antenna and the device/access point).
About the SD card, the sd card used is the default one. I tried with another sd card and I have the same results. All the firmware has been updated.

You could clearly see that it's not about the SD card because when the portal UI load (after literally hundred of refresh, see previous shared pictures), we also got connectivity errors (which are not linked to UI elements).
For me, it seems that the wifi board is not working properly and responds with a lot of invalid wifi packets or something like that which is not nominal.

                          Thanks for the explanation.

Last thing to try is a forced update of the wifi firmware.

Download this bin file and place it on the SD card in the /sys folder.

                          https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.0/DuetWiFiServer.bin

Then connect to the board via USB terminal and send M997 S1 which should flash the wifi module.

If that doesn't help, then I agree the module is likely faulty. When and where did you purchase the board?

Try the latest beta version of the firmware (Release 3.2 beta 2). I was having issues with the WIFI constantly connecting then disconnecting from my network and this update fixed all of that. My Duet2 Wifi also has an external antenna.

Also check the signal strength you are getting. Mine was weak so I moved the antenna and got a much better signal. That helped but it was the firmware update that fixed the problems I was having.

After updating to the given file my issues remain.
I have already tried moving the antenna to open locations.
Now confident that my board is faulty.

Your M122 report with the board in client mode shows a signal strength of -80db. That's far too low even for a wifi module with internal antenna when it is in the same room as the wifi access point. Therefore, assuming the antenna is plugged in to the wifi module, and that other devices can communicate well with the access point on 2.4GHz, it does suggest a problem with the wifi module or antenna.

Is the little plug connector on the external antenna that plugs into the wifi module damaged?

Antenna plug connector does not look to be damaged, thinking it must be a faulty wifi module.
