I'm getting this error response from a Duet 3 with SBC. Is this due to the SD "card" being a directory on the SBC, which doesn't need initialising? The gcode documentation or forums do not give any hint on why this code is not supported (any more).

@ofliduet because the sd card when in SBC mode is virtual.
M21 etc is still supported in standalone

Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

I suspected as much. It might be worth keeping it around for backwards compatibility. Currently the error response breaks Octoprint.

I agree, M21 for SD card 0 should just return success when running with SBC. One for @chrishamm.

Thanks for pointing this out, I'll change DSF so M21 doesn't return an error message for SD card 0 (which is the default for M21).
