Upgrade Duet Wifi 2.
i finally got my Printer back working after i changed my Router. (New Wifi Settings)
And i saw how many Updates got relleased and howly mowly.
Is there something special to worry about?
This is my latest Version:
Board: Duet WiFi 1.0 or 1.01
Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet 2.05 (2019-12-13b1)
Duet WiFi Server Version: 1.23
Well it depends if you want to update to RRF3 for the additional features it provides or not. 2.05.1 was the last release of RRF2 and is still perfectly usable. So if you're printer is working well and you don't want anything that RRF3 offers you can just stay on 2.05.
But if you do want to update there would be some changes required to the config.g at minimum due to how pins are defined and used now.
If you still have access to DWC. Upload these 3 zip files, one at a time in the system tab. Don't extract them. Reboot after each. Use M115 to verify the firmware has been applied.
That will get your firmware and DWC up to date.
You can see the change logs here:
For your config, might be a good idea to run through the configurator tool and generate a fresh set for RRF3.
Backup your existing config files in the sys folder in case you want to switch back to RRF3. IT’s easy to switch back and forth, just upload the zip file for the version you want and then upload your config files.
These documents will come in handy during the conversion.
@phaedrux Thx a lot.
I will think about that how much i really want those new fancy Features.
