RPI4 cannot start if DUET3 is powered
-
Hi , i have a duet 3 and a rpi4, everything is configured but i noticed this:
(nota the rpi4 is in a argon case)
the 5v jumpers are configured only in internal 5v, no other jumper.
and i noticed this: if i power up the duet 3 then power up the rpi4 the rpi seems to do nothing no boot, but as soon as i shutdown the power of the duet the RPI boots up.and if i power up the rpi with the duet unpowered then the RPI boots correctly.
any idea ?

Which argon case is that? Is it the one that has a PCB to extend the GPIO header and has fan control and a power button? If so you might not be able to use that case.

@phaedrux yes this is this one. why should i not use it ?
it does not extend GPIO, the bord extend the and regroups the HDMI and power on teh same side as USB but GPIO is still on the top untouched -
The GPIO is not untouched. The HDMI etc is a separate PCB yes, but the GPIO pins are extended by the case. If it's the same one I'm thinking.
I have the same case and wasn't able to get it to work, but I'm not entirely sure why. I just use that case for a different pi project that could better use the cooling.
If you want to try using that case we can try digging deeper on why it doesn't work the same.

@phaedrux yes you're right gpio is extended and power seems to go the GPIO too.
just tried to set the jumper in allways on mode so i bypass the swithc but it d'ont change anything. send a mail to argon to ask why i have this behaviour.
