The plan was to have the belt going between the wheels inside the C-Beam but with pulley with 20 teeth there is no room. Is there any disadvantage to have the belt connected off center and having the free side of the belt between the wheels (picture 1)?

Another solution is to have the motor, belt and pulleys rotated 90 degrees (picture 2 and 3).
