Duet 3 mini problems
-
Hi all here is what is happening. First note my friend has the exact same printer, with all and I mean all exact same parts. Me and my friend own Tronxy X5SA Pros. We both ordered Duet3 minis. His came a 2 days before mine, so we installed the Duet 3 mini. Setup was easy as we had all the right settings and within a few hours the printer was working and it prints great. My Duet 3 mini came 2 days later. My friend was away, so I used the Web config to do a quick setup of files. I wired everything in and it worked for like 30 sec and then it just stopped and on the screen it said connecting. Nothing would work. So I powered down and restarted, still nothing.. I took the SD card out put in my PC and it ask do i want to format it. I clicked on no. The SD card was split into 2 drives one asking to be formatted and the other drive had the files, but some were missing aka config.g. So I waited for the next day, took my Printer over to my buddy home to have both printers side by side. So we made sure all the wires were all in the same place his were.. They were all in the same place. Please note all firmware was the same. Just so you understand everything was a exact clone of mine.
So with one working Duet 3 Mini and one not, our tests started. First with bought a new SD card, made a copy of his SD card then first try it on his. It work great on his. Then with put that SD card in my Duet 3 mini. It booted ok, but was acting funny, It didnt home correctly, also the web controls would home on the stop the home started and not move to the X or Y endswitches. But if you hit the home all from the screen it would home but not at the correct spot all the time, meaning some times it would and sometime nope. Then the duet froze again, the screen would say connecting. So we pulled the SD card and files were missing again. So we put his duet 3 mini on mine printer to see what would happen. It fired up and work perfect. I even printed a small cube. We tried my duet 3 mini on his and it did the same thing it did on my. We also tried making another set of files on the web configor and it didnt work too.
So what should I do, how do I exchange the unit for a working unit, I got it from filastruder 2 weeks ago.
Thanks

Did the config.g file disappear the second time as well?

@phaedrux Yes, but it not always config.g file The 4th time it happen was when we tried it on my friend Printer and the SD got messup. windows couldnt see any file at all. I had to reformat the card. The SD card tests as ok after the format and I put the files back on and Duet 3 mini act normal for a little it did a homeall ok. Then it starts acting funny. Right after I did the home i told the x to move 50mm. I measured and it move 50mm. the I let it alone for 5 mins. I told it to move 50mm again and it move 80mm. So I turned the duet off and wait 5 mins and turn it back on. I told it to home all again, the X and y dont move, but the z moves. So I pulled the SD card and read in in windows, again windows is saying there something wrong with the SC card, please format it. So now we got a new SD card, put the file in it and first tried it in my friend's printer which is a clone of my printer, Tronxy X5SA pro. same everything. With my files his printer, it works and prints great. So we know the SD card works. So I tried it on my printer. but we can tell something it not right, as its not moving the same. But it did move. This time it took longer to just stop and the screen saying connecting.. So I removed the SD card reformed again, added the same file in, but this time we swap out my Duet 3 Mini and ran my print off his Duet 3 mini board with the SD card I just formatted. It homed perfectly. We set the z height for the BLtouch and at the end I printed a 20mm cube, which came out very smooth. I then told my friend Possession is nine-tenths of the law. But at the end I had to give his Duet 3 Mini back lol. I told you earlier that we try my board on his printer and it acted the same way is it did on my printer.
