Don´t loose it !

M O A F U's stroke me this morning.
Started a 26hour print job yesterday evening and all looks OK so I go to bed.
In the morning print was about 1/3 in height but printhead about ½ and no movement on the spool!
WTF
Obviously I had lost the end of filament and it got tangled and Mr Murphy did look to lock up the spool so my BMG just chewed right through.Pretty new 5kg PETG so to unwind and correct the issue will not happend
So friends =DO NOT LOOSE IT !!

Do you plan to discard the spool? Have you considered to untangle it?

Spool entanglement is something we can never blame the Duet.

What are you talking about?
Managing the front end of the filament. Should always be in one of three states
- Secured to the spool.
- In your hand.
- In the extruder.
Which makes me wonder, where is the end of the spool when the spool is fully printed.

I'm impressed you were able to fathom that post. It stumped me.

@fcwilt, spool ends is a topic that fascinates me day and night. For example, is it correct that every 3D print is made of spool ends?
BTW, @tecno recognized that a spool knot is actually not a knot since it can theoretically be untangled by unspooling his 5kg spool. This would be impossible with a real knot which must have a loop.
