Trouble homing Y axis

Hi would apricate if anyone is able to help me on this one.
My printer has been running fine and after coming back from a break I am now having issues where my Y axis won't home. When I press home the bed nudges roughly 0.5 in the opposite direction to what it should do, then stops and thinks it's homed. I have tried swapping the driver and used a different axis to test this but this also does the same thing. When it has been "homed" I can move the bed backwards and forwards via the web control, it just wont home in the right direction or travel more than 0.5 and move to the end stop. @eegroeg check the output of M119 for both the endstop trigger and not triggered. It should change. If it doesn't, you have a wiring issue

Question: 0.5 what?
In your Y homing file you have the typical first move toward the endstop, then the second move back a bit, then the third move toward the endstop.
If for some reason the endstop appears to the firmware as triggered (when it should not be) then the first and third moves will not take place, only the second move.
Are you seeing that 5mm backwards move?

You can also check the state of endstops (and lots of others things) in the DWC Object Model viewer.
