      Hello,

I upgraded my Duet from RRF 3.2 to RRF 3.3 and see a problem with my genuine BLtouch.

On RRF 3.2, the probe deployed and retracted 2 times on every start.

After upgrading to 3.3 it deployes and retracts one time... then it takes some time until it deployes again and stays there... and then it retracts.

Before this process took like 2 seconds.
Now its about 15 seconds and is not always the same.

The behaviour started when I inserted an empty SD card.
I made a backup of the RRF 3.2 on my pc but instead of copying it, i cut pasted.

On upgrading I took the Duet2and3Firmware-3.3.zip, uploaded it and let the upgrade finish (everything was successfully uploaded with a check mark). Nothing more (eg no manual DuetWiFiServer.bin upgrade etc.).

I am not sure if its a software/firmware error, of if it might be a connection error.
I checked the wires and everything looks fine.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction 🙂

OK, so far I checked that this is somehow linked to wiring.

If I connect the BLtouch directly to the duet, then everything works.
It turns on and does its initialization (2 times probe in and out).

But If I add this to the extension wire, this problem appears.
As long as the yellow (Control) wire is not connected, the initialization works.
But If I connect this wire, it just does one time pin out and in... needs ~20 sec for another pin out and then ~20-30 sec for pin in.

As this worked almost a year without issues before the update, I am not sure what could be the cause and the solution for this.

I hope someone of you has any ideas!

@phil333 please post the lines you are using to configure your Z probe in config.g. Once the initialisation has finished (even though it takes a long time, does M401 and M402 work as expected?

@t3p3tony I opened another topic with all collected issues I found after updating.
            You can find it here:

I'll wait a bit to let you read this and will then delete this topic here 🙂

@phil333 this sounds similar to https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/25291/genuine-bltouch-v3-0-weirdness-with-rff-3-3?_=1635272591563 except that you are using a Duet WiFi instead of a Duet Maestro. I will take the fix that I implemented in RRF for the Maestro and port it to the Duet WiFi/Ethernet build.
