      I have a fan which is cooling the driver backface of my Duet2 Ethernet.
      At the moment i use it with thermostatic control. I turn it on with 70% if any heater is over 45°C:

      M950 F2 C"fan2" Q500 ; create fan 2 on pin fan2 and set its frequency (Stepper Driver Fan)
      M106 P2 H0:1:2 T45 L0.7	; set fan 2 value. Thermostatic control is turned on (70% when any heater > 45°)

      As far as i know, the Duet2 is able to report temperature warnings. Is it possible to go to 100% speed when a temp warning is received? But i'd like to keep the "normal" cooling during a print...

      How do i have to setup this in config.g?

      Thanks for your inputs

        @cosmowave Nobody an idea?
        eventually @dc42 can tell me if it is possible?

        thanks

          just use M308 with drivers

              @pcr Thanks for your answer.
              I think, i will use the mcu temp for controlling my driver fan...

                What I did on my Duet 2 Ethernet and Duex 5 was attach a small bead thermistor to one of the drivers (X or Y but not Z because X and Y do the most work) with a small dab of epoxy adhesive. I did the same with one of the extruder drivers on the Duex 5. That allowed to monitor actual driver temperature and set up thermostatic cooling fans accordingly.

                For info, I also did the same with every motor which initially were on printed mounts and which tended to buckle and distort over extended print times. A better solution that I adopted was to change to aluminium motor mounts, which, when bolted to the aluminium frame, act as a giant heat sink and prevents the motors from even getting warm.

                Also for info, I don't bother with my Duet gen 3. Running Nema 23s at 2.3 Amps, the drivers are barley warm to the touch. But the boards are not inside any enclosure and have plenty of free air around them.

                  @deckingman Oh yes. An additional sensor is a good idea. I think i have a PT1000 laying around...
                  Only for info: I haven't any cooling problems. My board is cooled well and my motor currents aren't high.
                  I'd like to monitor the temp only for completeness and because we are able to do that!🤠

                    That's as good a reason as any. 🙂
