bltouch on duet maestro
-
@jcwild No problem. Since i'm running nearly the exact setup you're having trouble with, if you need anything specific from me to reference while troubleshooting just let me know!
-
@gixxerfast afaik this clone is supposed to be of v3 which is supposed to be 3.3v
-
OK so i plugged that new harness into the original sensor off this machine and it deploys and retracts with commands!
-
now that i know i need to redo my wiring, what awg should i use for this stuff? i used 28 awg idc ribbon cable and the length was about 2.5 maybe 3 feet. should i just get some ethernet cable or something?
-
That cable is probably fine for gauge, it's just that it needs to be connected. The smaller the wire, the more fragile it can be. Ethernet cable would be fine as well, but the same thing applies.

@phaedrux yeah well i made a connector for everything on the extruder carriage thats 16 pins and 2 larger gold plated pin and socket for the hotend heater so ive largely been worrying about that. I just upgraded my i3 to one of these bltouch clones after battling temp inconsistencies with an induction sensor so i figured i should do the same to this one. Here are some pics of the connector
-
so i took the 2nd bltouch and put it back on my other machine and now it doesnt work lol. i guess it broke somewhere along the way. it still deploys and retracts, but doesnt detect the probe movement

@jcwild I have the same problem as you,I tried to keep the bltouch wire away from other wires, because they interfere, so I solved the problem. Also, please use the original wire, welding and redoing are useless
-
@ashillis mines working fine now wired through my connector all mounted up properly. i wasnt welding anything, all crimped connections. no interference. just shoddy connections preciously
