      Hi all, I'd like to get into making my own scripts and such, as well as eventually being able to contribute to Open source programs like Super Slic3r (Long term goal). What's the best language to learn for all of this? I have experience with C and C++, so coding isn't completely foreign to me.

        Become a great programmer in C++.
        You'll be able to participate in a lot of 3D-type projects written in either C or C++.

        Then, learn (I hate to even say it) JavaScript. Most web-stuff is in JavaScript nowadays.
