Purchased a Duet3D Ethernet Board through MatterHackers which was installed in March. I was able to use if for a few weeks to configure/setup up a Modix BIG-60 V3 up until about three weeks ago.

Since then, the device is not discoverable on the network and I have had both Modix and our IT support team diagnose this issue for the past 3 weeks and the conclusion after spending 2 hours on the call with both teams earlier today is that there is possible an issue with the board.

Unable to connect to the Duet3D Ethernet port either via the network port or from a Laptop's ethernet port.

Is there a way to validate that the Port on the board is defective and can a replacement board be provided?

It sounds like you've gone through the basic troubleshooting steps already, but here's what I would check.

Do the LEDs on the ethernet port at either end come on when a cable is connected?

When you connected the Duet ethernet port and the laptop ethernet port was a static IP address set on both?

Have you tried reseating the ethernet module on the board?

Does the Duet obtain an IP address successfully?

If all that is futile, Please send an email to warranty@duet3d.com and CC your reseller. Include a link to this forum thread and the details of your original purchase. You'll receive a reply with a form to fill out.

Thank you for the swift response.

Please find answers to your questions below.

Do the LEDs on the ethernet port at either end come on when a cable is connected? No.

When you connected the Duet ethernet port and the laptop ethernet port was a static IP address set on both? No, it just shows a dead Ethernet connection between the Duet & Laptop Ports on the Network Connections.

Have you tried reseating the ethernet module on the board? No, However I just attempted to wiggle the Ethernet module a bit on the Board and now the left Amber LED is solid while the right Green LED is blinking; Once every second then twice in succession on like the 12th & 13th blink. Is there a diagnostic page to decipher what these LED lighting pattern means?

Does the Duet obtain an IP address successfully? Yes.

To be able to use a direct network connection between a Duet and PC you need to manually specify an IP address on both devices since there is no router in between them to give out IP addresses.

            As described here: https://docs.duet3d.com/en/User_manual/Machine_configuration/Networking#wired-direct-connection

Well that's a good sign. If there was no light previously and there is now that would indicate that it was dislodged.

This is also a good sign. How are you able to determine what the IP address is? Are you able to ping that address from a PC? Are you able to reach that address from a browser?

              @phaedrux,

The connectivity on the Duet3D Ethernet Port is intermittent indication some sort of loose connection, it might be related to soldering or something along those lines.

I just sent out an email to warranty@duet3d.com and CC's the retailer for RMA/Replacement part.

              Kind Regards.
