Tip for extending wires

I recently changed my two 3HC expansion boards for a single 6HC in a different location. As part of that process I had to extend four wires to each of six extruder motors, plus two pairs of wires to each of two hot end heaters and two thermistors as well as various assorted end stops and fans so roughly 40 individual wires that had to be extended.
I found these to be quick and reliable.
They come in a range of sizes, are reasonably cheap and give a nice, neat secure joint. Being soldered, they might not stand a great deal of tight bending back and forth but the heat shrink sleeve does give a fair degree of support. You do need something like a gas blow torch or a powerful hot air gun to melt the solder.
Anyway, they worked well for me so I thought I'd share.
Edit. They are called "heat shrink solder butt connectors" or various names using those words in a different order.

@deckingman yes I use these too, mainly to connect the CAN wires from the pre-wired JST ZH plugs that we supply with tool boards and tool distribution boards to longer wires.
Commercial users please note: many of these solder sleeves are not RoHS compliant.
