Feature Request - Position Overlay while editing files
-
While setting up tools and editing the tool files etc, I find myself having to take screenshots of the current X/Y/Z machine position to be able to see where the machine is while editing tool change files in particular.
I think it would be helpful to have some sort of positional overlay available while editing a file so I can see the machine position in real time.
For example, I'm currently setting up some new pens on my automatic pen changing plotter. I jog the tool into position over the holder so I know where it should be dropped off to. I then take a screenshot of the X/Y position and edit the files accordingly (as there's currently no way to see these positions while editing the file). -
@jay_s_uk Not exactly what you want, but when I do something similar I open a second copy of DWC that lets me see the information while editing a file.

@gloomyandy that would also work. I was more thinking of single screen setups etc with this request.

Maybe a bit broader, but having the file editor as some sort of non-modal popup that can be moved/minizmized/changed in size would be quite helpful in a bunch of situations. Bonus points if we can open multiple files at once.

@Diamondback It's planned as part of an overhaul of the current file explorer but I cannot give an ETA yet.
