DWC 3.5b2 - Autofill changing typed values
-
When editing or creating a macro etc and you press
enter
to move to the next line, if you aren't careful, the last value you've typed will be changed.
E.g. If you type the following lineG1 X100 F1000
and then the next line you type
G1 X1
If you press enter at the end of the line, autofill will change the value to X100 as its appeared before in the file.
This could result in incorrect file contents being created -
this is also affected by using
Tab
at the end of a line too -
@jay_s_uk It may be better to change the auto-complete to TAB only and not TAB or Enter?
-
@MintyTrebor i would agree that makes sense
@chrishamm this is still an issue with 3.5b3
-
@jay_s_uk can I disable autofill completely?
-
@oliof unfortunately not. not at the moment anyway
-
@chrishamm then I am kindly requesting an option to disable autofill. It's difficult enough to figure out my own darn mistakes, I don't need machine-generated ones on top.

@oliof said in DWC 3.5b2 - Autofill changing typed values:

That made me smile - so true.

@jay_s_uk Word-based suggestions (autocomplete) will be disabled in the next version. I may add real G/M-code auto-completion to v3.6, but if I do, I'll probably add a new setting to disable it as well.
