Bugs and Feature Requests on Github
-
I have recently migrated the known bugs and feature requests for RepRapFirmware that we have been tracking on our internal system to GitHub issues. Over the next days and weeks I will close the loop on these with the forum threads that they originated from (where applicable). In addition i will close down the old issues if they have been superseded or need to be checked again in the latest firmware.
Going forward, once a bug is confirmed on the forum we will capture it on Github as an issue (or ask the person reporting it to do so). Please continue to confirm bugs on the forum before raising them on GitHub.
Feature requests should definitely be discussed on the forum, not all feature requests are appropriate for raising as issues, especially if they require significant or breaking changes to other parts of the firmware. In a similar matter feature requests that have traction can move to GitHub.
There are milestones on GitHub for 3.4.6, 3.5.0, 3.5.1 and 3.6.0. Many feature requests do not have a milestone yet. As the system beds in, expect issues to move to different milestones. If we tag an issue with a milestone it does not constitute a commitment to implement it by that milestone at this point. This is all part of work to be clearer about roadmaps so milestone management should tighten up as we move forward.
