      Hey guys!

So at this moment I got a Anet A8 wich I converted to a AM8.
      Got a BLTouch installed (clone)

Now I was wondering if I purchased myself a Duet Wifi board if this was plug and play or do I need new cables and/or modify the connectors in some way?

      Thanks in advance!

Its not possible for us to know what connectors you have if you don't tell us, but the Duet has Molex KK-compatible connectors, which will also work with Dupont connectors.

A connector set is included with the Duet in case you need to install new connectors.

You will need to cut off the JST connectors and install the ones provided with the Duet. This will go for all of the connectors (motors, endstops, thermistors, fans, etc). Watch the wiring for the motors. If I remember right, the paired coil wires for the A8 are both outside and both inside wires. With the Duet, you will need to wire them next to each other. Won't matter which order you put them on the Duet, just make all 5 of them the same and you can flip them in the configuration if needed.

So if I'm understanding it correctly and I buy the Duet Wifi board with a Paneldue I'm pretty much set to installing it and start 3D printing again or is there something else I need?

You will also need a screen to go with the Panel Due. But, that is it.

                @number40fan:

YWatch the wiring for the motors.

On the Duet, the wires of the motors are A-A-B-B so two wires of the same phase next to each other.
Most motors I have seen use blue-red and green-black as pairs. If you are not sure, use an ohm meter or just short circuit two wires of the motor - if moving the motors by hand start to feel more difficult those are two wires from the same phase.

O - of course do this with the wires not connected to the electronics and the printer switched off.

So if I'm understanding it correctly and I buy the Duet Wifi board with a Paneldue I'm pretty much set to installing it

Yes - I just bought a Duet Wifi and a PanelDue with 5" LCD for a printer that I converted.
If you want to use the SD card on the LCD module, you also need a 10-pin ribbon cable.

Note that if you want to upgrade to a thermocouple or PT100 sensor in your hot-end you also need a sensor and the matching daughterboard.

Wiring and configuration is a piece of cake, I got my printer printing after a day or so.

                Rob
