No output fan 0

  • My part fan stopped working. I tried to switch to fan 1 and also fan 2, both are just on all the time. Did something fry?

  • administrators

Have you configured Fan1 and Fan2 correctly using M106? Bear in mind that Fan1 defaults to thermostatic mode.

  • well I updated firmware and now I need to get connected again. ill get it done this week and get back to this problem if it still is happening. thanks for the response. honestly I did not use M106 I just added F1 to the line in the firmware. after I get board working again ill hit you up.

  • couldn't get that board working. replaced with brand new one I bought for another printer. got it all set up but fan is always on now. it set to off in the control. not sure what to check

  • It would be helpful if you could post your config.g here, also updating the firmware shouldn't damage the board or prevent it from connecting, what firmware were you using previously with it and what did you update it to?

  • sorry took so long I never received notification of a reply. delta been sitting collecting dust. just got back from CES in las vegas and I'm all pumped up again to get this thing working. any help would be awesome!

  • ok so on the board that I removed because I can not get to work, I updated to 1.20 then updated the webserver after that and that's when it failed on me. ive followed all the methods and its just not working. used YAT and when I enter the M587 command it givs me error saying update failed. I did the M552 S0 and it just says ok. the board that the fan is on all the time is running 1.19 and its what came on board, scared to update this board now

  • administrators

    1. Is the fan a normal brushless DC one?

    2. If M587 reports update failed, that suggests you are not running the correct version of DuetWiFiServer. So copy the new DuetWiFiServer.bin file to /sys on the SD card, then use M997 S1 to install it.

  • the fan I'm using on the new board that is running 1.19 right now is brushless 24v dc fan, I had 2 in parallel, running one now with same problem.

ok on the board running 1.20 I will give that a shot and let you know the outcome. thanks

  • the board is dead will not respond to anything. it says its connected using YAG. all leds are on constant. and the led on the wifi chip is not on. I know the board is on because I connected a panel due to it and I see the firmware running but then the screen starts flashing on and off(do I need more than usb power to run panel due?) kind of over this. both boards not acting right. I'm sure its me but following all instructions just leads to dead ends.

A Duet + PanelDue with 7" screen draws too much power for a normal USB port to supply. This is why you see the flashing. With a 5" screen it is marginal. A solution is to supply additional power via the USB port on PanelDue from a second USB port on the PC, or from a powered USB hub, or from a USB power supply.
