      This is an image of the first print layer.
      Should the lines not be straight?
      What could be the cause?

        Your nozzle is too close to the build plate or you're overextruding a lot. When that happens it ends up squeezing plastic to the side you haven't printed yet.

            Thanks for the tip. I now have a first layer with lines only

            Now I am still sitting with the quality of the last layer. I am using Simplify3D.
            Which setting is important for the last layer.

              Top layer quality is dependent on many things. One question is how many top layers do you have? The more layers you have, (say, 5 instead of 2) generally, the better quality. Related to that, what percentage of infill are you using? Lower infill will mean your top layers have more chance to sag between the infill.

              Also, generally printing more slowly (say, 40mm/sec instead of 70mm/sec) will lead to to a higher quality surface.

                I think you are over-extruding. Try to adjust extrusion ratio down (95%?).
