more than 6 I/Os needed Duet2Wifi w/ Expansion Breakout Board
-
Hi Forum,
I am using a Duet2Wifi (version 1.04) with a Duet Expansion Breakout Board to run external steppers in a CNC machine. All is good, except one thing:
I am one I/O short as I need 7 I/Os to run endstops, zero setting tool and an x-y finder. Now, I see with the Duex there are 2/5 more I/Os available. However, on the Expansion Breakout Board they are not available. Can I just solder cables to the bottom of Pin2 and Pin4 to make E2_STOP available or cutting the ribbon cable on these two pins? Does that have an impact on the functionality of the Expansion Breakout Board? Thanks for your feedback!

@fabflo yes you can connect to those pins without affecting the functionality of the expansion breakout. They are connected directly to MCU pins without any protection, so be careful not to apply excessive voltage or static discharge to them.
