Is there any way to recover the config file when it is accidentally deleted or do I have to start over again?

If you edited it via the web interface and you are using a recent version of DWC then there will be a config.g.bak file in /sys on the SD card. Otherwise you will need to use the config tool to create a new one.

There is an option in DWC to select some or all of the files in /sys and save them in a zip file, for backup purposes. It's on the System Editor page.
