Interrupting power to the Panel Due during a print
-
Is it kosher to disable the Panel Due during a print by interrupting power to it? If I then reconnect power to the panel while the machine is printing, will the panel display updated information, and more importantly, will it affect the print?

Removing and reconnecting power to PanelDue during a print should not cause any problems.

Great! Thanks!

Should one disconnect GND or better + 5V or it does not matter.

I've done it many times, just by pulling the 4-wire connector. Which means power/gnd/signal will be random. In fact, I'm so confident in this process, I upgraded a Panel i7 a couple of days ago... about 25 hours into a 30+ hour print.
Unplugged, took to the computer, upgraded, plugged back in. No issues.*
.
* Well, technically, I bumped my filament sensor as I was plugging the Panel back in after the upgrade, and the print paused. Nearly had a heart attack... then when the display finished booting, it just said "paused" and I restarted the print, no issues. Really.

Disconnect +5V. Preferably, put the PanelDue on the Setup page first so that you don't interrupt a command in the middle of sending it.
Does the auto-dim facility still leave the display too bright for you?

Auto-dim facility is not really necessary for me now, would rather prefer a "standby mode".
Or first Dim and then additionally "Standby Mode"
