      Hi,

Does anyone know (or perhaps had a chance to test) what's the max power consumption of the Duet (i.e. with all 5 drivers working at full blast)?

Please note that I'm asking about just the Duet itself, not including auxiliary hardware like steppers etc.

      Many thanks,
      SnowCrash

" (i.e. with all 5 drivers working at full blast)?"

"not including auxiliary hardware like steppers etc."

How can these statements be simultaneously true?

          Hi @elmoret,

Simple: because 'stepper drivers' (TMC2660 on the Duet) and 'stepper motors' are two different things.

Edit: Sorry, @elmoret! Coming to think of it, you're absolutely right! Guess I shouldn't be posting at 2am! 🤔

So to rephrase my original question, what is the max power consumption of the Duet including the steppers at full blast?

Depends on the steppers and the input voltage, but for typical steppers, somewhere around 45w.

(3v steppers, 2.5A, 5 steppers = 35w, extra 10w for onboard electronics and inefficiencies. Probably conservative estimate.)

I have, but a fairly long time ago and didn't recall it having the figures 🙂 Thanks, @dc42!
