      So I purchased this probe and after reading some other posts about how to wire it, I'm left with some questions.

      If I connect the "power" lead of the probe to my 12volt power supply, where do I connect the other 2 wires? can I just connect them across the outer pins of the Z endstop connecter on the board? What exactly does the signal wire do?

      Where does this diode go that I see people purchasing?

      Saying I'm a novice at electrical engineering/wiring would be giving myself too much credit.

      Thanks for any advice you guys can give me.

        This is all explained in the documentation, read the section "NPN output normally-open inductive or capacitive sensor" carefully 🙂 .
